Some important moments in a day

Once upon a time, I was assigned to photograph a bride during her preparation for the wedding. The venue was stunning, with a spacious room that accommodated the bride, her mother, a hairstylist, a makeup artist, a photographer, and a videographer. As I entered, I found the makeup artist busy with the bride's mother, with the wedding dress hung elegantly by the window. I began taking photos of the dress, but soon encountered some challenges.

The makeup artist had set up an array of lights around the room and placed a tripod with her phone just 10 centimeters away from the faces of the bride and her mother, practically putting the phone in their faces. She was also positioned very close to the dress, leaving me with little room to maneuver. Despite the tight space, I managed to work around these obstacles without interfering with her.

Once the bride was dressed, I waited outside the room patiently. However, I soon discovered that the makeup artist and hairstylist were filming numerous videos, further testing my patience and professionalism. The situation escalated when the makeup artist abruptly shouted at me to hurry up and take pictures of the bride because she needed to go downstairs. Ironically, they continued to move around the room, stepping into my frames.

In a gentle manner, I turned to the bride and asked to have a moment alone with her, politely inviting the makeup artist to step outside. I wanted to ensure the bride remained calm and not stressed by the delays, which were not her fault. In the end, I only had about five minutes to capture the photos.

After the day wrapped up, I shared my experience with the bride, who seemed slightly annoyed by the makeup artist's behavior as well. The moral of the story is that during a wedding, time is of the essence, and everyone must do their job efficiently and respectfully. If I give you the space to work peacefully, you should do the same for me. Choose your vendors wisely; if there had been another person in the room, things could have gone even more terrible. This message is also for the vendors: learn to respect everyone involved. Regardless, the bride was absolutely stunning and handled everything with grace.
